I have a five year old and he loves it. Highly recommend this game. Can play this game all by himself without any help from me.
SO MUCH SO. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. BE SURE TO GET THE LMAX AS THEN YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING ON THE TV LOVE THE PARENT INTERACTION WHILE MY CHILD IS PLAYING THE GAME. I CAN WATCH ON THE TV AND HELP WHEN HE NEEDS IT.GREAT PRESCHOOL GAME. ALSO MY ENTIRE CHIDLS PRESCHOOL CLASS NOW OWNS A LEAPSTER LMAX.
He loved it, so I had to go back to Amazon and pick out some games and a case to keep them all together. He loves them, but he's a smart kid.
For example, one where the player is asked to guide the character through a jellyfish field by bouncing on the large blue jelly fish, or the jelly fish with the number 5, etc. I found it a well put together, colorful, and entertaining game. As the main story is narrated, the words appear on the screen and are highlighted as they are read. The stories are interactive to some degree in that the characters can be touched (tapped with stylus) and they will add something to the story. I think it is great and she does too. My daughter received this game and the Leapster for her thrid birthday. There are short stories that are read aloud. There are several mini-games that are entertaining and educational.
She is so into the game she doesn't even realize she is learning from it. She started out finding the "small pink jellyfish" (for example), which she easily knows. My four year old got this for Christmas yesterday and she is hooked. I love it because she doesn't even realize she is learning. Then she is to find the "number 5 jellyfish," which is much more challeging for her.
